It's the brightest school bus tape in the ORALITE® line — about 50% more reflective than V99 at the standard viewing angle — and thin enough to trim cleanly around rivets and body features. ORAFOL lists it as meeting FMVSS 217, ASTM D4956-13 and CSA D250.
Why V82 School Bus
- Brightest in the line. Rated at 470 cd/lx/m² at 0.2° observation / -4° entrance, versus 310 for ORALITE® V99.
- OEM grade. The tape ORAFOL positions for new-bus builds and shop installs.
- School bus yellow. Held to the same school-bus-yellow color box as V99, so the two match on a fleet.
- Specification compliant. Per ORAFOL: meets ASTM D4956-13, FMVSS 217 and CSA D250.
- Mono-layered construction. Per ORAFOL, no edge sealing required; withstands high-pressure washing and resists edge lift.
- Tough and flexible. Under 0.008" thick, passes a 1/8" mandrel bend and a 100 in-lb Gardner impact with no cracking, and meets LS-300C solvent resistance.

Application
- Apply only when both air and surface are 65°F or warmer — needed for proper adhesive bonding. For cold-weather work outdoors, use ORALITE® V99.
- Clean all grease, oil and dirt from the surface, then wipe with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth and let dry.
- Peel the liner and apply with firm squeegee pressure. Trim around rivets and hardware as needed.
- If a bubble is trapped, prick it with a pin and squeegee the air toward the hole.
FAQ
Is this the same as the yellow in V82 solid-color tape?
No. V82 School Bus is a dedicated school bus yellow with its own color spec. The yellow in the V82 solid-color line is a general-purpose safety yellow for trucks and equipment.
Why would I buy V99 instead if this is brighter?
Temperature. V82 School Bus needs 65°F air and surface to bond properly. V99's adhesive is formulated to bond down to 0°F, which makes it the better choice for re-taping outdoors in the winter.
Does it need edge sealing?
Per ORAFOL, the mono-layered construction needs no edge sealing, stands up to high-pressure washing and resists edge lift.
Is this the same as Reflexite V82?
Yes — V82 was formerly a Reflexite® branded product and is now made and sold by ORAFOL under the ORALITE® name.
