ORALITE® V99 School Bus Conspicuity Sheeting
School Bus Yellow #441" & 2" x 150'10-Year WarrantyMicroprismatic reflective tape in dedicated school bus yellow, made for outlining the sides, rear and emergency exits of school buses. Thin, tough and flexible enough to cut around rivets and body features, with an adhesive formulated to bond in the cold down to 0°F. ORAFOL lists V99 as FMVSS 217 compliant.
Why V99
- True school bus yellow. A dedicated color (#44) held to its own chromaticity spec — not the general-purpose yellow used on truck and equipment tape.
- Made for exit marking. ORAFOL designed V99 for the sides, rear and exit points of school buses and lists it as FMVSS 217 compliant.
- Cuts clean around hardware. Under 0.008" thick and passes a 1/8" mandrel bend — easy to trim around rivets, hinges and window frames.
- Microprismatic brightness. Aluminum-metallized cube-corner prisms rated at 310 cd/lx/m² at the standard 0.2° observation angle.
- Tough enough for the bus yard. UV-stabilized face passes a 100 in-lb Gardner impact with no cracking and meets LS-300C solvent resistance.
- Year-round install. Best results at 65°F and up; adhesive formulated to bond as low as 0°F on a clean, dry, frost-free surface.

Application
- For best results apply at 65°F or above.
- In cold weather (down to 0°F), the surface must be free of ice, frost, condensation and contaminants.
- Clean the panel thoroughly, peel the liner and apply with firm squeegee pressure. Trim around rivets and hardware as needed.

FAQ
Can I use regular yellow reflective tape on a school bus?
V99 is the purpose-made option: school bus yellow #44 with its own color spec, listed by ORAFOL as FMVSS 217 compliant. General-purpose yellow tape such as ORALITE® V82 is a different yellow and isn't marketed for school bus exit marking.
1" or 2"?
Both are 150' rolls. Your state spec and the exit you're outlining decide the width — check the spec before ordering a fleet's worth.
Can we re-tape buses in winter?
Yes. The adhesive is formulated to bond down to 0°F if the surface is clean and free of ice, frost and condensation. ORAFOL still recommends 65°F+ for best results.
Is this the same as Reflexite V99?
Yes — Reflexite is now part of ORAFOL, and V99 is sold under the ORALITE® name.
