HIGH GLOSS Mirror-like reflectivity with deep, paint-shop-quality shine. Engineered for 250% better reflected image quality vs. typical premium cast wrap films. Includes a removable protective layer to guard against scratches during installation.

GLOSS Rich, polished color in a wide spectrum—blacks, whites, blues, greens, reds, oranges, yellows, pinks, and more. Ships with a removable protective film layer for scratch-free installs.

SATIN A soft, refined sheen sitting between gloss and matte. Mimics premium OEM factory finishes and is one of the most-requested looks in the modern wrap market.

How long does a 3M 2080 wrap last?

3M 2080 carries the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty for up to 8 years on vertical exposure and up to 3 years horizontal in most U.S. climate zones. Actual lifespan typically runs 5–7 years on a daily-driven, properly maintained vehicle. Hot, arid desert zones (including parts of Arizona, Nevada, and the broader Southwest) may have reduced warranty periods—contact us for zone-specific details.

Is 3M 2080 removable without damaging paint?

Yes. When installed on factory OEM paint in good condition and removed within the warranty period, 3M 2080 is engineered to remove cleanly with heat and/or chemicals. Any residual adhesive cleans off easily with 3M™ Citrus Base Cleaner. 3M recommends professional removal by an authorized installer.

What's the difference between 3M 2080 and 3M 1080?

3M 2080 is the next-generation upgrade to 1080. It features more conformable dual-cast construction, an improved Controltac™/Comply™ adhesive system, a removable protective film layer on gloss colors to prevent install scratches, higher reflectivity on high-gloss finishes, and a longer warranty (up to 8 years vs. 7 years on 1080).

Do I need application tape or premask?

3M 2080's 3.5-mil dual-cast construction has enough rigidity to be installed without overlaminate or application tape in most cases. For cut graphics and pre-spaced lettering, 3M™ Prespacing Tape SCPS-55 is a recommended option to test. Note: textured 2080 films can be difficult to use with application tape—apply graphics quickly after taping.

Can I print on 3M 2080?

3M does not warrant printed applications of 2080. Printing is on a user test-and-approve basis. For printable wrap film, look at 3M's IJ180 or IJ280 series instead—we stock and can source those as well.

What roll sizes are available?

3M 2080 ships standard in 60" x 25 yd rolls. Other roll lengths (5 yd, 10 yd, full 60 yd master rolls) may be available on certain colors—contact us for SKU-specific options.

What surfaces is 2080 NOT recommended for?

3M 2080 is engineered for OEM-cured automotive paint. It is not warranted for stainless steel, powder-coated metals, water-based paints (test first), repainted surfaces with poor paint-to-substrate bonding, or vehicles with rust, dents, or surface damage. Bodywork must be properly sanded, primed, and finished before wrapping for a warranty-eligible installation.

How should I store 3M 2080 rolls?

Store rolls in their original container at 40°F–100°F (4°C–38°C), out of direct sunlight, in a clean, dry environment. Bring rolls to room temperature before use. Shelf life is 3 years from the manufacture date on the original box.
