Mactac IMAGin® ROODLE™ RO628 exists for one job that regular print media handles badly: full-color wall posters and murals applied directly to smooth, flat painted drywall, and intended to come back off.
The construction is what makes it work. A 6.0-mil semi-rigid calendered PVC face gives the film enough body to hang flat and resist the curling and edge lift that thin flexible media shows on a wall, while the matte white surface eliminates glare from overhead lighting and photographs cleanly. The aggressive removable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive holds through the life of the graphic, and a 90# SuperFlat™ PE-coated kraft liner keeps the material flat through the printer.
It runs on an unusually wide range of print systems — screen, HP Indigo, UV cured offset, solvent UV offset, UV inkjet, thermal transfer, eco-solvent, true solvent, latex, Canon UVgel 356, narrow web UV inkjet, and flexographic with an approved topcoat.

RO628 is designed for smooth, flat, painted drywall. Mactac specifically says to avoid textured surfaces — textured paints, wallpaper, stucco, and scrubbable paints. In the Southwest that rules out a large share of interior walls, since knockdown and orange-peel drywall texture is standard in most construction here. Run a hand over the wall before you quote the job. If you can feel texture, this is not the right material and the graphic will not hold.

Class A Fire Rating — Why It Matters Here
RO628 meets ANSI, NFPA, and IFC Class A surface burning characteristics with a flame spread of 20 and smoke density of 120. For large-format interior wall coverings in commercial buildings, schools, and healthcare and hospitality spaces, interior finish flame-spread classification is frequently what the plan reviewer asks about. Having the rating in hand is often what makes a big mural job approvable at all.
Printing Notes
Ink Saturation Ceiling
Maximum allowable ink saturation is 270%. Rich-black builds and heavy shadow areas in a mural file will exceed that quickly if the profile isn't set up for it — check total ink coverage before you commit a long print.
Pressroom Conditions
Print in a conditioned space at approximately 73°F and 50% RH. Solvent-printed images must be thoroughly dry before rolling for shipment; retained solvent migrates and shows up later as edge adhesion failure on the wall.
Lamination
No overlaminate is required for typical interior murals. Laminate with Permacolor® ColorGard LUV Series or PromoGard where the graphic will face scratching, corrosive liquids, smoke, fumes, or heavily polluted air — and note that overlamination also slows the color fade that occurs over time with any inkjet print.
Transport
Roll finished graphics image out at a minimum 6" core diameter. If the print is not laminated, make sure it is fully dry and bag it. Avoid extreme temperature and humidity swings in transit and storage.
Installation — The Steps That Matter
Removal
Start at a corner and carefully pry the film up. Pull back at a 90° angle to put the least stress on the paint underneath, keeping the pull diagonal to the panel, and go slowly. Rushing removal is what pulls paint off a wall.
