Product Description
ORAJET® 3971RA + ProSlide® Premium Digital Printing Cast PU – 2 Mil PVC-Free Polyurethane Wrap Film with RapidAir® Air Egress – Gloss White, 54" & 60" Rolls
Self-Healing | Won't Yellow or Crack | Repositionable Low-Initial-Tack | 10-Year Unprinted Life | No Primer Needed
ORAJET® 3971RA + ProSlide® is a different material from everything else on a wrap shop's shelf. It is a 2-mil premium cast polyurethane film — PVC-free — with a gloss white face that conforms over complex curves and deep recesses, resists yellowing and cracking, and carries self-healing properties that let light surface marks disappear rather than accumulate.
The performance case is about where wraps actually fail. ORAFOL positions this film for extreme service environments specifically including arid climates, along with tropical, extreme cold, and industrial exposure — and claims best-in-industry performance on horizontal surfaces, which is where hoods, roofs, and deck graphics take the hardest UV and heat load and where conventional wrap films typically give out first.
Two installer-facing technologies come built into the liner. ProSlide® gives the adhesive optimized repositionability and low initial tack, so a panel slides into place instead of grabbing on first contact. RapidAir® lets trapped air escape from under the film, which is where the time savings show up on large panels and spot graphics. No adhesive promoter or primer is required.
Applications
- Long-term vehicle wraps — full color change and commercial fleet graphics
- Commercial restyling wraps on complex body panels and recesses
- Boat wraps and marine graphics
- Horizontal surfaces — hoods, roofs, decks, and trailer tops
- Spot graphics and partial wraps where fast, clean placement matters
- Long-term outdoor signage in high-UV and high-heat exposure
- Industrial environment graphics with incidental chemical and fuel exposure
What You're Paying For
IPA may haze the surface of 3971RA. Clean with a mild detergent and water mixture instead. This is the single most important handling note on this product — IPA is the default wipe-down in most wrap shops, and it will damage the finish here. Make sure every installer touching this material knows before the first panel goes on.

Pair With ORAGUARD® 279
ORAGUARD® Series 279 is the recommended laminate for 3971RA — a 2-mil cast polyurethane film that matches the base film's construction. Matching PU to PU keeps the finished system consistent in conformability, chemical resistance, and weathering behavior. ORAFOL notes that this combination installs and finishes more easily than legacy extruded polyurethane wrap film and laminate pairings.
Printing & Installation Notes
Low Initial Tack Changes the Technique
At 2.38 lb/in, this adhesive is intentionally far less aggressive on contact than a standard permanent wrap film. That is the feature — it's what lets a panel be repositioned — but installers trained on grabby films need to adjust. Expect to work the film down deliberately and post-heat properly so the bond develops. This is not a hard-to-stick film and is not intended for low surface energy plastics or powder coating.
Ink Drying
Use ORAFOL ICC profiles from orafol.com. Allow solvent-based inks to dry a minimum of 24 hours — 48 to 72 hours preferred — at 70°F before cutting the graphic or applying a laminate.
Surface Preparation
Clean the substrate thoroughly of dust, grease, and contamination. Freshly lacquered or painted surfaces must be fully cured, and lacquer and paint compatibility should be tested by the installer before application. Batch traceability by roll number is available under ISO 9001.
