Printing and installation notes
- Profile for backlit. Build or select a backlit ICC profile and expect to lay down more ink than a standard opaque media call for — density that looks heavy in daylight is usually what you need once the lamps come on.
- Cure before laminating. Let solvent and eco-solvent prints outgas fully so residual solvent doesn't get trapped under an overlaminate.
- Seal the edges outdoors. Nekoosa recommends edge sealer for outdoor installs and anywhere the graphic sees high solvent exposure. This is the single biggest factor in hitting the 5-year rating.
- Watch the application temperature. Apply at 40°F (4°C) or warmer. Cold glass and cold acrylic will fight the adhesive.
- Clean the substrate. Removable adhesives are less forgiving of dust and residue than permanent ones — a proper prep wipe pays for itself.
Rolls, cut lengths, and stock
Stocked in Phoenix as a full 54" x 50 yd roll. Need a narrower width or a partial roll? We slit and cut in-house — see our Roll Slitting Service or contact us for cut-length pricing. Nekoosa also produces SPMTUR in a 60" width; if your cabinets need the extra face, ask and we'll quote it.
Pair it with
- Overlaminates — add UV and abrasion protection for outdoor and high-traffic illuminated faces.
- Other printable translucents — compare against ORAJET 3850 and the rest of the backlit lineup.
- LEDs and power supplies — source the illumination and the face from the same order.
