Product Description
3M™ Wrap Film 2080-HG10 — High Gloss White
Crisp, paint-pure white with 250% better reflected image quality. The cleanest, brightest white in the 3M 2080 lineup — engineered for fleet, OEM-paint refresh, and luxury color-change builds.
3M™ Wrap Film 2080-HG10 High Gloss White delivers a clean, brilliant, mirror-finish white that reads as fresh OEM paint rather than vinyl. Cast from 3M's flagship dual-layer 2080 construction with a 3.5-mil film body and gray Comply™ adhesive for excellent opacity, HG10 is the white that wrap shops reach for when the brief calls for paint-pure brightness — whether that's a clean fleet refresh, a Tesla brightening project, a corporate vehicle re-skin, or a two-tone luxury build paired with matte black or carbon accents.
Because gray adhesive sits behind the white film, HG10 maintains true color integrity over body lines, panel gaps, and rivet detail without the substrate bleeding through. The film carries the same 250% better reflected image quality claim as the rest of the 3M 2080 High Gloss family, giving wraps a wet-paint optical depth that's difficult to achieve with any other premium cast vinyl on the market.
Every roll ships with the removable protective film layer on the gloss surface. Leave it on through the entire installation — including stretching into deep panel channels and squeegeeing seams — then peel it off before post-heating to reveal an untouched, mirror-finish white panel that looks freshly sprayed.
Why Wrap Shops Choose HG10
- True paint-pure white — clean and bright without the cream, yellow, or gray cast common to lesser white films
- Gray adhesive for opacity — eliminates substrate bleed-through over body lines, panel gaps, and rivets
- 250% better reflected image quality vs. typical premium cast wrap films
- Removable protective film layer — install scratches and squeegee marks stay on the protective layer, not on the wrap
- 3M™ Controltac™ slideable adhesive with 3M™ Comply™ air-release channels for bubble-free installs
- 60" roll width — seamless coverage on hoods, roofs, vans, and trailer side panels
- Engineered against yellowing — UV-stable formulation backed by the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty (up to 8 years vertical)

Installation Notes for HG10
- Surface temperature: Install at 60–90°F substrate temperature for best adhesive performance. Phoenix-area installers should avoid mid-day install on metal substrates during summer — surface temps can exceed 140°F.
- Leave protective layer on through stretching, squeegeeing, and trimming. Remove only before post-heating.
- Lot matching: For full vehicle wraps, request all rolls from the same lot. White is one of the most lot-sensitive colors in the 2080 lineup and side-by-side differences can be visible in direct sun.
- Post-heat to 195°F after install to lock in adhesion and dimensional stability per 3M Instruction Bulletin 5.36.
- Application tape: Generally not required. If used for cut graphics, test 3M™ Prespacing Tape SCPS-55 first.
Care & Maintenance
Treat HG10 the same way you'd treat a fresh clear-coat paint job. Hand wash with mild automotive soap and a microfiber wash mitt, or run through a brushless car wash. Avoid automatic car washes with rotating brushes, hot wax services, abrasive cleaners, and high-pressure spot cleaning at close range. White wraps benefit from monthly hand cleaning to prevent road grime and brake dust from building up at panel edges.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is 3M 2080-HG10 different from 3M 2080-G10 (regular Gloss White)?
HG10 is the High Gloss version — mirror-finish reflectivity with 250% better reflected image quality than typical premium cast wrap films. G10 is the standard Gloss White and is still very shiny, but doesn't have the same deep optical reflectivity. Both share the same Controltac™/Comply™ adhesive, 3.5-mil dual-cast construction, and 8-year warranty. For show-quality builds, fleet branding photographed for marketing, or any application where the reflectivity sells the look, choose HG10.
Will HG10 yellow or fade over time?
3M 2080 is engineered with UV-stable pigments and is warranted against yellowing as part of the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty (up to 8 years vertical). In high-heat climates like Phoenix, expected vertical lifespan is generally 5–7 years before any visible color change. Regular hand-washing and avoiding harsh chemicals extends real-world life considerably.
Can I wrap directly over my OEM white paint?
Yes, provided the paint is in good condition with strong adhesion to the substrate. Wash, clay, and IPA-prep the surface first. HG10 typically reads as brighter and more reflective than OEM whites — particularly Tesla's Pearl White Multi-Coat, BMW Alpine White, and Toyota Super White II — so factor that aesthetic difference into the customer brief.
How much HG10 do I need for a full vehicle wrap?
As a rough guide: 50–55 linear feet (60" width) for compact cars, 60–70 ft for mid-size sedans and SUVs, 75–90 ft for full-size trucks and large SUVs, and 100+ ft for vans, box trucks, and oversized fleet vehicles. Always add 10–15% for waste, mistakes, and panel reshoots. One standard 60" x 25 yd roll covers most mid-size vehicles with margin to spare.
Is the gray adhesive visible through the white film?
No. The gray adhesive is specifically designed to provide opacity, which is critical on white. Without gray adhesive, dark substrates and panel seams would bleed through and create blotchy, uneven coloration. The film body's pigment density combined with the gray adhesive ensures HG10 reads as a true, uniform paint-pure white from the outside.
Can HG10 be used for partial wraps like racing stripes or hood accents?
Absolutely. HG10 is widely used for stripes, hood blackouts (paired with matte black), roof accents, mirror caps, and badge surrounds. The 3.5-mil dual-cast construction has enough rigidity for cut-and-prespaced graphic work without needing an overlaminate.
