Product Description
ORACAL 7510 is a 6-mil fluorescent cast PVC film — the long-life member of ORAFOL's fluorescent line. It shines in full daylight and holds its intensity at dawn, dusk and in fog, rain and other poor-visibility conditions, and it stays bright roughly twice as long as the economy 6510.
This is the production roll. Twenty-four inches is the width most shops cut fluorescent on, and at 300 square feet a 50-yard roll carries you through a season of safety markings, truck numbers and P.O.P. work without reordering. It also runs about 25% cheaper per square foot than the 24" x 10 yd.
Where it works
- Car, truck, van and trailer graphics
- Motorsport numbers and race graphics
- Emergency vehicle and boat safety graphics
- Point-of-purchase displays and retail signage
- Labels, decals and window copy
- Bicycle, helmet and personal safety markings
ORAFOL rates the film for flat and conformable short-term applications. It is a premium cast film — it cuts and weeds cleanly, and at 120% elongation it takes gentle curves and corrugations more willingly than the 6510. It is still not a wrap film and is not rated for deep recesses or compound curves.
Outdoor durability by color
| Color | ORAFOL item no. | Minimum life expectancy (unprinted, vertical) |
6510 equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fluorescent Yellow | 029 | 3 years | 2 years |
| Fluorescent Orange | 037 | 2 years | 1 year |
| Fluorescent Red Orange | 038 | 2 years | 1 year |
| Fluorescent Red | 039 | 2 years | 1 year |
| Fluorescent Pink | 046 | 2 years | 1 year |
| Fluorescent Green | 069 | 2 years | 1 year |
Durability figures are ORAFOL's published minimum life expectancy for unprinted film on vertical surfaces, Climate Zone 1. Fluorescent pigments are inherently less UV-stable than standard pigments — under the high-UV, high-heat exposure typical of Arizona, Nevada and inland Southern California, expect the fluorescent effect to dull sooner than the published figure. Horizontal and sloped surfaces reduce service life further. Screen colors are approximate; ask us for a sample before committing 300 square feet to a color match.

Application tapes
ORAFOL recommends ORATAPE HT55 (paper) and ORATAPE MT95 (clear, conformable) for transferring cut 7510 graphics. HT55 is the everyday choice for lettering and numbers; MT95 is worth the upgrade when you need to see registration through the tape or the graphic has to lay into a curve. At production volume, order tape by the case alongside the roll.
Surface prep and storage
Clean the substrate completely — dust, grease, wax and residue all cost you adhesion. Freshly painted or lacquered surfaces must be fully cured before application, and paint and clear-coat compatibility should be tested on a small area first. Roll numbers support batch traceability under ISO 9001, so keep the label: on a 300-square-foot roll you may well be adding matched pieces to a job months later. Store rolls upright or suspended, out of direct sun and away from heat.
Common questions
7510 or 6510?
Same six colors, same semi-gloss cast PVC, same adhesive family — the difference is life and body. 7510 is 6 mil against 6510's 4 mil, has a stronger 4.1 lb/in bond, stretches further at 120% elongation, and lasts roughly twice as long: 3 years in fluorescent yellow and 2 years in the other colors, against 2 and 1. Buy 6510 for a race weekend, a seasonal promotion or a graphic coming off in a few months. Buy 7510 when the graphic has to look right through more than one summer, or when reinstalling it is expensive.
Should I buy this or the 24" x 10 yd?
This 50 yard roll is roughly 25% cheaper per square foot. If 24" fluorescent is something you cut regularly, buy the big roll. Use the 10 yard to test a color or cover a single job.
Will fluorescent vinyl glow in the dark?
No. Fluorescent film converts UV energy in daylight into visible light, which is why it looks unnaturally bright at dawn, dusk and under overcast skies. It needs a light source. For genuine glow-in-the-dark performance, look at photoluminescent films instead.
Can I laminate it?
An overlaminate adds abrasion resistance, but it also filters the UV that makes the film fluoresce, which mutes the effect and works against the reason you bought the premium film. If the graphic will take physical abuse, laminate it and accept a duller appearance. If brightness is the point, leave it unlaminated.
How long will an unopened roll keep?
Two years in the original packaging at 68°F and 50% relative humidity — the same as the film's service life on a wall, so buy to your turn rate rather than stockpiling. A hot shop ceiling is the fastest way to age vinyl that has not been used yet.
