Product Description
Best for: full vehicle wraps, fleet programs, deep channels and recesses, complex 3D surfaces, and any job where the customer is buying a decade of service life rather than a season of advertising.
What MetaGlide actually changes on the install
About the 10-year figure. Metamark rates MDC at 10 years durability unprinted, backed by the MetaSure 10 Year Warranty. Once you print it, the graphic's rated life is governed by the specified lifetime of the ink used — and the warranty applies to the matched system: MDC printed and applied per Metamark's documented process and finished with MetaGuard MGC overlaminate.
That's how every premium wrap warranty in the industry is structured, but it's worth understanding before "10-year warranty" goes into a customer proposal. Ask us for the current MetaSure terms and we'll send them over.

Values are manufacturer typical properties, not specifications. Durability references Metamark's international durability guide and varies by climate, orientation, and ink set — Southwest UV exposure is more aggressive than the European baseline most published figures are built on. The 63" width is worth the conversation
Metamark produces MDC in 1600 mm (63") alongside the standard 1370 mm (54"). On a full wrap, the wider roll often means one fewer seam per side — less panel alignment work, less material wasted at the overlap, and a cleaner-looking finished vehicle. On a van or box truck where a 54" roll forces a horizontal join across the middle of the graphic, the extra nine inches can eliminate it entirely. Worth pricing both ways before you commit a fleet program.
Heat numbers, because this is where wraps fail. MDC is a dry-application film. Metamark's published figures:
- Application: 55–65°C (131–149°F) to soften the film for conformability
- Post-heat into recesses: 90–95°C (194–203°F) after application, so the film sets in its new shape
- Do not overstretch. Overstretching is the leading cause of application failure — the film remembers, and it pulls back out of the recess weeks later
Use an IR thermometer rather than judging by feel. The post-heat step is the one that decides whether the wrap is still in the channel next year.
Print and finishing sequence
- Condition the material. Room temperature and roughly 50% relative humidity before printing.
- Handle by the edges. Don't touch the face film; keep it free of dust and static.
- Use Metamark's profiles. Correct ICC profiles and heater settings are part of the warranted process. Profiles are published for download.
- Test print first. Always, before committing a full vehicle's worth of material.
- Let the solvents off-gas: 24–48 hours minimum before overlaminating or applying to the vehicle — and frequently longer depending on ink coverage and shop conditions. Retained solvent reduces adhesion. This does not apply to HP Latex prints.
- Overlaminate with MetaGuard MGC. Recommended to prevent abrasion, extend colour fastness, and make the film easier to handle on application — and required for the matched-system warranty.
- Apply dry, with heat per the figures above, and post-heat every recess.
Build the full system
- MetaGuard MGC cast overlaminate — the matched 40 micron cast laminate that completes the system and the warranty. Available gloss or matt.
- Vehicle wrap tools — squeegees, heat guns, IR thermometers, and knifeless tape.
- All vehicle wrap media — compare against the rest of the cast and calendered wrap range.
- Laminators — cold roll laminators sized for 54" and 63" work.
Quoting a fleet program or a shop changeover?
We quote MDC and MGC together as a matched system, supply the MetaSure warranty documentation for your proposal, and hold stock against a phased vehicle schedule. Ask about 63" if you're wrapping vans or box trucks — the seam savings usually pay for the width. Overnight delivery across Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado; nationwide UPS everywhere else.
