    DPF 510 High Tack is the answer to a problem every sign shop runs into: a substrate that won't hold a standard pressure-sensitive vinyl. Construction barricade plywood, weathered MDO, textured plastics, low-energy substrates, and re-skin projects over old graphics — these surfaces are rough on standard adhesives and lead to lifting edges, callbacks, and rework.

    510 High Tack solves this with a solvent-based, high-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive that develops ≥4 lb/in peel strength in just 15 minutes — more than 2.5x the bond strength of standard DPF 510. The aggressive grab also means more reliable installations on cold-weather job sites and rough textured surfaces where standard films fail.

    What Does "High Tack" Actually Mean?

    High-tack adhesives are formulated with stronger initial grab and higher ultimate bond strength than standard pressure-sensitive adhesives. The trade-off is reduced repositionability — once the film makes contact with the substrate, you have very little time to slide it before the bond sets. For graphics that need to stay put on rough, dirty, low-energy, or otherwise difficult substrates, that aggressive grab is exactly what you want. For graphics that need to be repositioned during install, choose a standard-tack film instead.

    Reduced Repositionability: The high-tack adhesive develops bond strength rapidly. Once the film contacts the substrate, you have very limited time to reposition before the adhesive sets. For applications requiring repositioning during install (large-format wraps, complex layouts), use a standard-tack film like DPF 510GTX/MTX instead.
    Permanent Bond — Removal Will Damage Substrate: Like all high-tack adhesives, removal after extended service typically leaves adhesive residue on the substrate and may pull paint, finish, or graphics with it. Do not use 510 High Tack on surfaces where clean removal will be required later. For removable applications, use Arlon's removable-adhesive films (DPF 510 GTR/MTR or DPF 8000 Ultra Tack).
    Flat Surfaces Only: Like all calendered films, 510 High Tack is rated for flat and gently curved surfaces. It is not suitable for vehicle wraps, complex curves, rivets, or corrugations. For those applications, use a cast print film.
