Product Description
ORAJET 3952F is a 2-mil optically clear premium cast PVC film built for one job: printed graphics on glass that people still have to see through. The film and the adhesive are both optically clear, so there is no haze, no milkiness, and no adhesive pattern showing when you look through the window.
Why cast matters on a clear film
ORAFOL builds 3952F as a premium cast film for dimensional stability. On a white film, a little shrinkage shows up as a gap at the edge. On an optically clear film applied to glass, shrinkage and distortion are visible through the graphic and against every straight mullion and frame line on the building. Cast construction is why this film holds its position on a long-term architectural install, and it is the reason it costs more than a clear calendered film.

The 7-year figure is ORAFOL's unprinted durability rating. Printed life depends on your ink set, your laminate, and the exposure the job sees — a first-surface exterior graphic in Phoenix is a different problem from an interior second-surface graphic in a lobby.
Wet application
ORAFOL recommends wet application for this film. That is not optional advice on a clear product. There is no white face film to hide anything, so every bubble, crease, and speck of dust under a dry-applied clear graphic is visible from both sides of the glass. Wet application buys you the repositioning time to float the panel, square it to the frame, and squeegee out cleanly.
Work clean. Glass that looks clean in daylight will show dust once a clear film goes over it and the sun hits from the other side.
First surface or second surface
3952F is designated for long-term exterior first-surface applications and interior second-surface applications.
- First surface — applied to the outside of the glass, viewed from outside. Laminate it. This is the exposure the 7-year rating is about.
- Second surface — applied to the inside of the glass, viewed from outside through the glass. The glass protects the graphic, and the film stays out of reach of weather and vandalism.
Second-surface graphics must be printed mirrored. The image reads through the glass, so the print goes on reversed. This is the single most common way a clear window job gets scrapped — catch it at the file, not at the install.
Pair it with ORAGUARD 252F
ORAFOL's matched laminate for 3952F is ORAGUARD 252F, which is itself an optically clear 2-mil premium cast PVC film. That pairing is deliberate: a standard clear laminate will not hold the same clarity, and the whole reason you are buying this film is that nobody should be able to tell it is there. If you are laminating 3952F, use 252F.
ORAFOL Splice Free Guarantee
Every roll of ORAJET digital print media is guaranteed free of splices. If you find a verifiable splice, ORAFOL replaces the roll at no cost and pays $500. On a long architectural run where a splice means restarting the panel, that guarantee is worth knowing about before you load the roll.
What it is built for
- Architectural window graphics on office buildings, lobbies, and atriums
- Storefront and mall glass where the display behind the glass has to stay visible
- Museums, visitor centers, transit centers, and sporting venues
- Glass partitions and interior glazing
3952F is also used for transparent graphics over vehicle paint, where the paint stays visible under the printed image. ORAFOL's stated application for this film is architectural window graphics — if you are planning a vehicle application, call us and we will talk it through before you buy a roll.
What it is not
- Not a privacy or frosted film. It is clear by design. For frosted, dusted, or etched looks, ask us about the window film options.
- Not an opaque print media. Anything you print on it will be seen against whatever is behind the glass. Design for that.
- Not a dry-apply film. See above.
