Dynamic lighting jobs rarely stay simple. A project that starts with a few RGB fixtures often grows into addressable border tubing, pixel-mapped artwork, and a client who wants to schedule it all from their phone. The Allanson ACL-MC-MP-V1 Multi-Protocol Master Controller is built for exactly that situation. It runs DMX and SPI at the same time from one 10.1" touchscreen unit, so sign and lighting contractors do not need a separate controller for each protocol.
What Is the Allanson ACL-MC-MP-V1?
It is a browser-based master controller with a 10.1" LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen (1280 x 800). It drives addressable modules, RGB and RGBW fixtures, and rigid or flexible border tubing. Remote internet and cloud access let you manage lighting programs away from the job site, and user account control lets you decide who can change what.
Key Features
- Concurrent DMX and SPI operation: both protocols are supported at once via converter
- Remote and cloud management: adjust programs from anywhere
- User access control: set permissions by account
- Time scheduling: stored programs and schedules run locally, and internet access is only needed for remote management
- Fanless aluminum enclosure: rugged and quiet, with a VESA 75 wall mount and panel mount

Pixel Mapping and Custom Programs
The controller supports pixel mapping software, and Allanson can build custom programs from your customer's artwork. That is a real advantage on branded installations where the light show needs to match a logo or a specific look.
What You Need to Add
Plan the full system before you order. SPI control needs an ACL-ARTNET-SPI-KIT 4 or 6 converter, which is sold separately. Long SPI runs also need an ACL-SPI-SA signal amplifier. In a typical network, the controller sits behind the customer's firewall and router, with switches feeding DMX sub-controllers and ARTNET-SPI converters.
Installation Tips
- Mount it indoors in a conditioned or well-ventilated space. It is rated to 122°F, so avoid outdoor spots and closed sign cabinets.
- The IP65 rating applies to the front panel only.
- In the box: the controller, a 12V DC 5A 60W power adapter, and a mounting bracket.
Pair It with Other Allanson Products
If your project is smaller or DMX-only, look at the Allanson ColorMix DMX Master Controller (ACL-MC-DMX-1U) or the ColorMix DMX/SPI Master Lighting Controller (ACL-DMX/SPI-LC). For a ready-to-go addressable setup, there is also the ColorMix RGB Addressable Bundle with 80 modules, power supply, and controller.
